Common Lab Tests:

CBC: Complete Blood Count. Measures the number of certain blood components such as level of white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. This test is used to look for anemia and whether or not your immune system is working to fight an infection. The test does not identify what that infection might be. This test can also screen for certain types of cancers like leukemia although it won't be specific enough to tell you what type of cancer it is. Further testing would need to be done.
